Please tell me I didn't see someone say that Prince wasn't used in the black community. Please tell me I didn't see that. Because he didn't sound black enough? Not when Soul Train, NAACP and many more african american outlets were the main ones giving him his legend and icon awards in the 90's. And even in the 80's the core of his sound was funk. Especially when so much of his stuff was sampled in the Hip Hop community. You children need to do your research or gtfo. He literally got criticized only two albums for not sounding true to his roots and that was Lovesexy and possibly Parade. Like....go away. "Only a few of us mentioned Prince on this forum". Girl do you want a cookie or a scooby snack? Of course he was barely mentioned on this forum. Because 90% of the people on here stan for these basic, microwavable pop stars. That's literally no shade. But many of you stan for sales and minimal talent tbh. Like...uh uh. Prince was used amongst blacks.
