Like I've stated many time before, TEOM hasn't aged well at all. To the point where you can hear the dust on it. It's a handful of hot singles (minus Shake It Off) littered with stale offcuts. It could only dream to be as original and risky as Glitter.

Hmm "mediocre" is subjective, my dear friend.
Oh and Glitter has aged well? Yeah Glitter was SO original and risky being released on one of the worst days in America.
Oh and did we forget the critically acclaimed box office smash Glitter? The movie that accompanied it that also landed Mariah several Academy Award wins. Very original.

Memoirs is her most cohesive album that couldn't even self a fraction of Mimi. The reason is because it sounds boring, dated, uninspired, and did I mention boring?
It's not my fault that general public adored TEOM and Memoirs was paid dust. Take it up with the public, not me.
But the fact remains that TEOM remains a legendary album that is hailed as one of the greatest comebacks ever that also gave Mariah MORE Grammy Awards. It comes along with excellent singles, excellent album tracks, and just a memorable era in general.
Memoirs......eh....it's cute...I guess.
Not really but you get the point.
