The one thing wrong with a lot of people in here is their intention to write down the commercial success of a song solely based on its genre. And why exactly dance music?
No one is capable of predicting if a pure dance or pop song will click with the general public or not. It's just a matter of a lot of factors and also a matter of how catchy the song is.
Just look at the current top position on iTunes:
- JT leading with 40% with a generic GP friendly pop single, something Bruno would have released years ago.
- Pink is at #3 with the same tired pop/rock sound
- The Chainsmokers are at #4 with a dance/EDM song
- Fifth Harmony are at #7 with a dance song
- Calvin Harris is at #8 with a dance song
You can't just simply imply that her next single is going to flop just because it will be a dance record

First of all are you really comparing male and female popstars' numbers and chart positions?

Tragic. I'm not even gonna bother explaining why that's just plain stupid.
Gaga's in such position that her previous dance record severely underperformed she had to rebrand herself as an artist. Show the world there's more depth to her than her pop persona. Show the world she has the voice to back her silly costumes up. She did that. People ARE expecting something serious from her. Especially the crowd that bought CTC album and went to see her and tony perform. Just because you want her to come back with a dated, and already dead genre, doesn't mean the GP does too. And yes, I'm not implying, I'm stating something fairly obvious. If she comes back with something similar to AP/TF/BTW you'll be surprised at how badly it'll perform.
But I trust her and everything she's said/shown thus far makes me think she's not going the dance route at all.
