Well the series should've ended at the Pain arc. It would've been PERFECT and shown Naruto, as a character, coming full circle with the village finally appreciating him. (We wouldn't have met Goddess Mei but that's fine).
The war arc is a mess, both in the manga and anime. In the manga the story is a mess, certain characters are giving a day in the limelight then paid dust immediately after. (See: Sakura activating Byakugō then getting punched out by Madara literally five chapters later. Pretty much the same for Godnade). The anime is even worse because not only are they serving the final arc of the story some of the worst, low-budget animation I've seen but they are stuffing it full of fillers when there's nothing to even delay for. The series ended like 2 years ago now? Why are they still including fillers? Granted, some of the latest ones have been good from what I've read but that crap about the Sound 4 was just so extra.
Let me not get started on the sexism of the author and how his excuse for his weak, damsel-in-distress females is "I can't write females". Like how hard is it to simply have Sakura doing what the guys do? He had it on point at the start with the Sasori fight then she became trash again right up until the end. Ugh, thank god for the videogames on the PS4.
