They did, it's called Black & White. The focus on plot and developing characters, from Gym Leaders to rivals to villains, and a brand new fresh start in the first region outside of Japan (signalled by no previous Pokémon being available).
Pretty ballsy move on their part and you refusing to even give them credit is probably why your idea won't come to fruition anytime soon.

Yeah, no. It was America with Sinnoh influences and it was designed pretty awfully, let's be 100% here. The plot is ridiculously overrated and the idea of no old Pokemon being available was awful.
Shouldn't even have brought it up since everyone in here deifies Gen 5 and pretends it had everything when it merely tried everything.

IJS girl, you want all these lofty ambitious projects but them taking risks in the past has got them more hate than any other project and no credit even for the things they did right. They can't be blamed for playing safe.

The gen 4 praise. I'd join in but I've already replayed Platinum 5175 times.
I decided to replay AS and I tried to make it more interesting by using a team of shinies but I haven't touched it in like 2 weeks.

Let me try to remember:
BW
Samurott, Stoutland, Simisear, Gigalith, Zebstrika, and something else, that team was a mess.
B2W2
Serperior, Zoroark, Lucario, Excadrill, Jellicent, Darmanitan
X
Blastoise, Delphox, Lucario, Roserade, Krookodile, Noivern
Y
Scrafty, Charizard, Goodra, Lapras, Chesnaught, Aegislash
AS (Shiny Badgequest hihi)
Blaziken, Hariyama, Altaria, Magnezone, Lucidolo, Tentacruel (also Dustox and another Lotad)

My qualms are only with Gen 5, not with the idea of taking risks.
And really, it's in the name - risk. You can't expect success but you have to keep trying. BW might have been a little bit of a decline from the sales of Gen 4 and B2W2 might have been pretty much a disaster in that area, but backlash shouldn't stop them from trying again.
That's what's disappointing to me.

Just add side quest. That's all it needs. Side quest and a bigger open world to explore.

I think they almost had that in XY with the Looker story (which was enjoyable)
They should keep the ORAS features of going to very small islands or caves too

I don't know what this is.
I'm thinking some tragic tastes maybe?
Edit: WAIT. I just realized these are your clear teams.

I have flawless taste, which I see you constantly seethe about, but no patience.

And the Looker HQ was pretty fun! They just need to spread it all over the region and have big rewards for it as well

I just realized a friend of mine said he'd gotten 4 darkrai codes and would give me one, but I didn't catch one in my inbox

Girl you literally said you didn't like them changing the formula up. Because you were traditional, or something along those lines. I have a life so I'm not gonna look for it but a mess sis. You might not like gen 5 and its fine, but what you're asking for is exactly what you got but you decided its not good enough. I even told you that that way of thinking is what made gamefreak not take risks and shake things up.

Completely different concepts. You can keep core concepts that pertain to gameplay and mechanics while changing the stories, settings, and qualitative elements drastically. It's not that hard and they're not the same thing.
So um yeah no!
