Lord this page was a long time coming.
Everytime I listen to "Illumislayage" I just think about Kanye jumping up and down on the table because he was so into his own production which is tragic, but it's iconic that Madonna name-drops Gaga.
It's a great song - like yeah, not quite in the same mood as the rest of the album, but a bop nonetheless.
As much as I love albums that connect and are a "body of work", I also like albums that just have a bit of everything.
I know it's sacrilegious to talk about Gaga in here, but I do love Born This Way pretty much for its variety. It's exciting to not know what kind of song is coming next. The need for coherency in sound is unnecessary, just some kind of thematic bond is all the songs need. And even then, meh. The time of the album is coming to a slow close tbh. I honestly don't know why there aren't more artists who 
just do singles.
