Being a LEGEND means that you have already proven yourself in the industry. Britney's paid her dues and she has the LUXURY of always being able to come back even from an underwhelming era which we CANNOT say the same for Gaga.

Gaga makes generic songs but her marketing is arty fartsy which some people buy. Luckily I saw through this already and her fate has always been clear to me from the beginning.

I think we're comparing the fact that Gaga performed at the Super Bowl, Oscars and Grammys this year AND sent a single to radio and was still pulling in less streams than Britney prior to Britney's BBMA performance

This is more along the lines of what I think. If we ask the question "what does pop music need right now?", the answer is probably more ambitious work. Out of the two, Gaga is more likely to deliver ambitious work.

Britney has always been a generic pop artist. A successful one, but generic.

Oh please. Gaga has always had this agenda of latching on to what's hot at the moment like the fashion world. They got over her real quick once they started to see how quickly she declined. It was catastrophic.

The only reason why Gaga did Cheek To Cheek is because she wanted a reason to stay relevant in some little way... be a "critical darling" or whatever. It was a quick save. No relevant or hot girl would ever do a project like that so quickly or early in their careers.

Anyway, Gaga has two good albums (one of which is an EP) anf Britney has seven. Gaga has 10 great videos and Britney has 30. I have no reason to believe Gaga will come back with another great record, especially when she's trend chasing producers like Mark Ronson. I hope she proves me wrong, though.
