So Gaga was kinda to blame for ARTPOP sounding so messy. I assume Gaga likes DJWS also cuz he kinda gives her a lot of control.

I think the people who try to pass it off as un-listenable are just closed minded about the type of genre referencing and exploration that was going on. Not to say that Fantano or any of the other publications don't know anything about music, cause it's clear they just gave it negative reviews because they dislike her as a person. The most surprising Born This Way review was Rolling Stone's. They gave it four stars. I thought they'd give it a more mixed review.

The thing with with Zedd and Madeon that deserves some criticism is that they were coming in, working with her for the first time and gave what pretty much seemed like tracks with no effort. They both recycled instrumentals and they really weren't as good as the stuff that made them hot EDM producers. Zedd's music now is even pretty weak compared to what he debuted with. Spectrum and I Don't Like You have the energy that his work on ARTPOP should have had.

The only hits Redone had at the time of working with Gaga was a Kat DeLuna bop that I don't even think touched top 10. It's odd because it's almost like all the odds for redone and Gaga to really work conceptually were not really there. But Gaga slays so!

Dont get me wrong the beats were recycled and I agree none of their productions were the best for Gaga, but that's not my point, my point is that we can be very defensive and overly critical of redone and that is somehow a problem, but when it come to DJWS or her other non preferred producers it's fine and justified

But RedOne has literally shaped, or even arguably created her sound. We all know three of the four of her signature hits were produced by him. Even when he was producing more homogenous sounding dance-pop for Iglesias and Lopez, it was like his persona producing for Gaga was entirely different. So he's probably more trustworthy to fans hoping to enjoy the music than someone new who comes to work with Gaga. They don't know if it'll be a bad combo or not.

That's why I personally think that unless RedOne becomes redundant or really bad, he should make a return. If DJWS sticks around and delivers fan favorites he'll be up there with Red (and Garibay) too.

I understand that he shaped her sound but their sound is incredibly dated by today's standards. (with exceptions) The thing is that a lot of us praise Gaga for bringing new trends to the forefront but many of us also want her to repeat what she's done in the past to stay relevant and that's the biggest problem she's had so far, it's also why C2C worked so well for her.

I do agree though that if DJWS really brings it, people will be more likely to be positively receptive to him, and I'm not ever opposed. To her working with redone I'm just not hyped for him or expecting much. I'm willing for him to prove me wrong though

If this is referring to my post, I was speaking generally about all producers. People always hate on Fernando and DJWS too, yet Stan for DITD, MTN, BM, DWUW etc.
We should wait and see what RedOne brings to the album- but if it is a dated mess then Gaga is also to blame for putting it on the album. We can't just pin it on the producer like they forced her at gunpoint to include the song on the album.
I guess it's just easier to blame the producer than Gaga.
