I would not say it is a boring song.
It is simply a song that doesn't have the "trademark" of your artist, and that could be sung by Ciara or any other nobody and still be as good (or bad) as it is.

So lame how you have to change the subject to Brandy. You obviously know Taylor's songs are generic, or you wouldn't have brought Brandy up.

I will admit that some of Brandy's songs are generic, but she DOES take risks (especially on her upcoming album - she's gonna change up her style by mixing her rapping AND her singing; plus she's AMAZING at both), and many of her songs are more than just the average love song that your fave clings to. Okay, Brandy actually has a lot of love songs, but like all of Taylor's are. And Brandy actually changes up every love song, not one sounds the same.

Besides, every love song by Brandy is a million times better than anything Taylor can come up with.

Taylor has an average voice, while Brandy has a unique, distinctive voice. And she's far more talented, too. Taylor plays it safe ALL the time.

Taylor's songs are very generic in every way except for lyrics. Taylor's lyrics are very distinctive and very unique to herself. Can you imagine Ciara or Lady Gaga or Beyonce or Carrie Underwood or Britney Spears etc. singing "you're on the phone with your girlfriend she's upset"? Only Taylor can really sing about high school and pull it off to her country/pop audience.
