And tbh the special effects were never that bad. Some demons were a mess but that's about it. The Charmed Ones were all slaying with their powers (Freezing, Orbing, Premenition)

Anyways, it was a family show. Buffy was much darker, and I don't know why people even compare the two.

In 2014 it was one of the most streamed shows on Netflix. That's why CBS ordered a reboot. The pilot was filmed, but they cancelled it. Also the fans & the actresses posted a lot of negative feedback on the idea, so that was probably one of the reasons it was canned.

The budget was cut only in season 8, tho.
