Awards show ratings rise and fall each year, the VMAs aren't on a continual downward streak and probably never will be.
You're trying to point out the fact that the BBMAs got more viewers when it's on network TV which everybody with a television has access to. The VMAs are on cable which requires a subscription. And you also only took the MTV ratings when it also aired on Viacom's other cable networks.
