And tbqh "Azillion" (as corny as the title) was actually a hot song (read: beat) too. She's not making BAD music per se.

Nicki's lead single (PnP) did poorly just as team , anaconda did bad until the music video came and even than radio /sales was mediocre . i agree iggy did damage to her carrer with twitter and stuff but with the right song she can pick up .

I've been saying this since the end of TNC. She should spit some verses on hits like she did on Problem and just own the fact she needs features. She'd thrive if she did that - and she could possibly even get to a point where she could put out solo singles and have them well received too. It's clear at this point she isn't going anywhere in the hip-hop sphere as they will NEVER have her after what she has said and because of her image. At the moment she's a pop girl dressed as a hip-hop star and it just doesn't work.

Before the mv came out, Anaconda had already outpeaked all of Iggy's solo songs.

As I said earlier, I don't think the issue is bad music. The songs aren't bad. SHE's the main problem. It's much bigger than a hit song. That's the difference between Iggy and Nicki.

Sure, a hit single will help somewhat get this project pushed out. But this is not a good look, and her public image needs to do a complete 180....and fast.

That's the bigger problem IMO.

u missread it, she said she loved artpop and respects Gaga for doing what she wants no matter of the other, and that she wants to be that fearless. she wasn't talking she wants to do album like artpop. Zedd collab came randomly, she was sitting next to his manager on the plane so they arranged something
