How come everytime an album flops (Honeymoon, Britney Jean, ANTI, etc) "no live performancesss!!!" is the new excuse.
Y'all know how charts works. A live performances does what? 5-10K copies at most, if it's huge.
Lack of live performances isn't an excuse for selling 500K, 1M, or 1M+ less than expectations. A performance on Good Morning America won't magically shift 300,000 copies.
It's weird how an era to the navy consists of solely the hot 100
Not album sales without an asterisk
Not tour gross
Not album acclaim
Meanwhile the Hive celebrates Beyonce's solo top 10 + more top 20s than the Anti era
Her record breaking album sales thus far that don't require an asterisk
Her record breaking WW stadium tour
And her 90+ metacritic album

Honeymoon flopped because of no promo performances, no hit songs, and it's kinda snoozy. Btw, did u finally listen to Born to Die?
Also Britney Jean's sales don't look so bad in a post-Apple Music-world tbh

Born to Die & Ultraviolence had no hits though. And as for performances, same as I said in the previous post. 5 or so performances wasn't gonna magically make her sell a million more.
Rih released her album at arguably the worst sales climate of the year, on top of giving away all those digital downloads, and her lack of promo this whole era. She is doing well.
Now if she were smart and used the Antidiary as a visual album opportunity and actually made us excited about the album rollout well...things would be a lil different. Same Ol' Mistakes with her.

Britney Jean's sales will always look bad.
Britney Jean pulling 600k sales and she isn't even singing on so many of those tracks...that's a win for mediocrity if I ever saw one.
Born to Die had Video Games which was a huge ballad in Europe and went viral in the age of the internet artist (she's probably the biggest of her kind tbh). UV sold well based on hype from her previous eras and the music is 10/10. Born to Die and UV are both 10/10. **** the Grammys
