Things to note:

• Ican very well see Popplio rising.
• Totodile is my favorite starter of all time. Followed by Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Charmander, and Litten.
• I allotted one point for the position they were in. 1st gets 1, 2nd gets 2, etc. Then I added each Pokemon from each gen and averaged each of their scores and came to this conclusion:

Best Starters:
Gen I
Gen II
Gen VII
Gen VI
Gen III
Gen V
Gen IV

• Gen I and II were obviously very close. Gens V and IV were also close. I still feel like I like Gen IV better, because Piplup is better than any Gen V starter. But on average, it appears I like Gen V starters better!

But last time the player character was a native of another region we didn't get to go see their original one. I don't think Kalos or Zygarde are going to be consequential in Gen 7.

I hope the Grass starter isn't complete trash competitively. Just give it Thick Fat tbh.

Popplio will probably be the defense starter. I kinda hope the evolution surprises us and it's not just a standard pure Water or water/ice.

Litten definitely looks like it'll be Fire/Dark right now but anything can happen.

Very pleased overall. I like all three whereas I never liked Chespin last time around.

A little bit about me: Pokemon Gold was my very first Pokemon game when I was younger on the Gameboy Color. Since then, I've only played Red and Diamond; I'm a flop. I was always way more interested in the spinoffs. Stadium(1+2), Snap, Ranger(we need a new one ASAP!), and most recently, Pokken.

I just kinda lost interest in the mainline games. Diamond was meh to me, and I skipped BW. By the time XY came out, I lost a lot of interest in gaming because I switched schools and was playing baseball again. I'm back at it now though, I just haven't gotten around to XY. I tried the demo for ORAS and tbh I thought it was just bad.... (Raised flameshield) The game felt lazy. It's like they took the whole overworld and just tilted the perspective a bit. It wasn't 3D, and it didn't even feel like a 3D overworld. It is super grid like, the way the water touches the shore, just everything about it.

Nevetheless, I have always loved the characters and series, and I probably always will. Sun and Moon look AMAZING; they will be my gateway back.

I look forward to getting to know y'all and discussing Pokemon.

Tbh, Fennekin is basically interchangeable with Torchic on my ranking. Treecko and Chimchar, however, are highly overrated and their designs aren't that great. I like Froakie a lot but I simply like the others better.
