They know how to surround themselves with people who do things better than they do and learn from them. And they know how to market themselves on their own terms, around their own strengths.

This is what Gaga lacked. In some ways, Gaga built the current landscape for pop stars, but Taylor and Beyonce seem to know the rules of the new world a lot better than her.
