A complete outsider just took over one of our two major parties. This was unthinkable for decades. We'd have to go back to the 1950's, to Eisenhower's time to see something to compare it to. Donald Trump just ANNIHILATED the GOP establishment. Another insane 22% margin victory. 538 now predicts he could hit 1,400, and is on point to get the most popular votes in GOP primary history.
With nothing more than a Twitter account, memes and some snappy cool hats, he's destroyed the Republican establishment. They spent literally hundreds of millions of dollars trying to stop him, threw a dozen of opponents to take him down, geared up everyone from Mitt Romney to Karl Rove to Koch brothers against him, and got completely and unequivocaly crushed. This is Carthage sacked to the ground. Political scorched earth.

1)ND is a red state and has been since 1968. Same with SD, TN, IN, and MT.
2)MS and GA are slowly turning Dem and could happen in 2024, but right now I'll say no.
3)Same with TX. Not happening this year.

So this has all the states Democrats have won in every one of the past 6 presidential elections + Florida (which pushes Hillary past the 270 mark).

From here, what do we see going to Hillary as well? (as all the other not so solidly Democrat states for the past 20 years have been assumed to go to Trump just to show how easy a democrat victory is)

- Virginia (13)
- North Carolina (15)
- Colorado (9)
- New Mexico (5)
- Nevada (6)

So she could even lose Florida and win a combination of these and it still wouldn't matter. This is also being very generous to the Republican side

I don't see how it can be if Clinton wins the 19 states (and D.C.) that every Democrat has won for the last 20 years, as that gives her 242 electoral votes. All you have to do is add something like Florida's 29 and you pass 270 and it's game over.

Considering how polarizing Trump is I can't at this stage see how he could even come close to threatening her in the staunchly democratic states. Then again who knows with him.

Hillary will start off with 207 electoral votes (from the safe states. Trump isn't switching them no matter what you say). That leaves only 63 more.

There are two lean Democrat states (that voted blue in '08 and '12 - Michigan and Penn). That leaves her only needing ONE state (which is Florida) and she wins. That simple. The media will obviously try to make it sound like this contested battle, but it won't be, and you can bring this post up again on November 8.

Now some would say yeah he can take MI and Penn. Right, but you know what states aren't in the 207 given? Nevada, NH, Iowa, Colorado. She gets these 4 and that makes up for those lost.
