Well he obviously has the biggest loyal album-buying fan base in the U.S. after Taylor. I would be quite surprised if he approached anything north of 1.1M in pure sales though.

Still, a progression from 600K opening week to 1M opening week is pretty shocking. That's akin to Fearless -> Speak Now.

It's not some province, he's just as big here as elsewhere in Europe Selling 600k in one day being an iTunes exclusive is fishy indeed unless you're Hitlor or Fadele. Good for him if it turns out true, I may even check the album out
