Welcome castaways to Round 2 of Survivor: ATRL Edition (Season 6)! Congratulations on surviving the first round of the game, but there is still a long journey ahead of us. Let's get started!
The theme for Round 2 is...
Let's Run Away ~Then there's nights like tonight that I want you to myself~
After a rather easy round, it is time to take it up a notch. This round, we maintain a focus on romantic relationships, but this time we turn to a positive outlook on them. Songs submitted this round should be about lovers wanting to get away from everyday life and spend quality time alone. This round is about traveling somewhere distant with your significant other and enjoying time spent together with no outside interference or stress. It does not matter whether your artist is running away for a night or a longer period of time. You just need to make sure your song tackles the theme of running away with a lover itself. If you can manage to do that, you should be in for another good score this round. If your R1 score wasn't all that good, this is your chance to redeem yourself, especially since two tribes will be heading to Tribal Council.
What To Do:
Once your song is selected, PM me the artist and title of your song. You don't have to include a link to the song unless you are sending a specific version of it. There's no explanation needed as your song should speak for itself. If your song requires an explanation to make sense, it's not a good fit.
There are 23 of you playing this round. You guys are bound to submit the same songs at some point and because no one can occupy the same song, I encourage you to send a back-up choice along with your first pick. This applies especially to those who are not around when a round is posted and don't have the luxury of choosing an instant track.
Currently, we have one castaway on Redemption Island (mxtthewdelrey. They will not submit a song this round as they are currently alone on the island. Next round, they as well as whoever joins them on the island will submit a song to kick off the first duel of the season.
Take Into Consideration:
The panel will judge the audio/lyrics of the track you submit. Music videos will not increase or decrease your score as some music video plots differ from a song's true meaning.
The theme is what is important here. You will not receive a low score because you sent in a song one of the judges does not like. Taste will at the most be the difference between an 8.5 or a 9. We will never dock off multiple points based off mere preference.
The song you choose should display the meaning upfront. An interview with your artist clarifying the meaning of the song will not be taken into consideration.
Judging Scale (May Vary By Judge):
9/10 - Great entry. Track displays the theme given head on.
8 - Good entry. Displays theme well but not as well as others.
7 - Okay entry. Fits decently but is missing something overall.
6 - Somewhat tackles the theme but falls flat.
5 - Track mentions theme but is otherwise off-base.
3/4 - Song does not hit the theme given besides a line or two.
1/2 - Song has to do with a completely different subject than the theme.
The example for this round is "Heartbeat" by Carrie Underwood off her fifth studio album 'Storyteller'. Lyrically, Carrie describes wanting to run away for a night alone with her lover, with the chaos of civilization too far to come between them.
Quote:
And tonight I wanna drive so far we'll only find static on the radio
And we can't see those city lights and I love the way you look in a firefly glow
Saying everything without making a sound, a cricket choir in the background, underneath a harvest moon
Standing on your shoes in my bare feet, dancing to the rhythm of your heartbeat
The deadline for this round is April 26th @ 7:00 PM PST.
This round is the first double elimination of the season. Two of you will join mxtthewdelrey on Redemption Island.
