tbh idk why I'm making excuses, Covergirl would do anything to keep her it's not like she doesn't have the power to say no to embarrassing things like this. She allows it. Knowing her she probably suggested it "make me a pink sexy queen with kittens ;D"
she'll always do things like these here and there even if she tries to change her image cuz it sells products... her cartoon image is what made her katy perry
she had her shot to transition to a different kind of sound/ image /persona with her divorce and all post teenage dream. ........but she refused to evolve & pigeonholed herself even more...so idk what's gonna happen with kp4 & the future of her pop career.
What shocks me the most is that no one in her team seems to be aware of the what her image has become and that they are only digging deeper with it until it's too late to change.
it's kind of obvious that unconditionally's flop caused all of this. she saw that people weren't here for her being mature, so she completely butchered dark horse's MV, birthday's MV, and chose TIHWD as the closing single and now we're here
She hasn't done anything really major in the media spotlight recently other than maybe the Golden Globes, where she looked mature and classy. It's her new single where her imagery really needs to take a new direction to set the tone for the rest of the era.
