Prince's domination. I wonder what the percentage is of older fans rebuying his albums and new fans discovering him for the first time. It's pretty incredible. A lane of his own.
The Prince domination isnt surprising. These pre-digital era huge artists have legions of old fans who never updated their record collections to digital. So when they suddenly die its the perfect time to do so while youre also re-enjoying their music over again.
Did anyone else notice how other recently deceased artists also had sizeable gains on ITunes? I see Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Kevin Sharp (Country), and David Bowie all at higher positions than they were prior to Prince's death.
And apparently the reason the Foo Fighter's remake of Darling Nikki isn't charting because it's not available on ITunes. FF has 200 tracks listed on there, and DN isn't one of them. I'm surprised honestly.
There are all these memes on Facebook about them and a ton of artwork of Prince with Michael, especially. I'm not shocked since they're flooding my timeline
