13. Mariah Carey - Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel Released: September 28, 2009
Chart Positions:
US: 03 - UK: 23 - AUS: 06 - CAN: 05
Really i didn't think about Mariah's comeback the last year
because her E=MC2 promotion was a mess and I thought she
will be taking a break but well here is the result and is not
great for her career. The album starts with the prologue
"Betcha Gon' Know" a nice track which of course thanks to
the powerful voice of Mariah. Another track that caught me
my attention was "H.A.T.E. U" which have the same beat of One
Republic's "Apologize" and the voice of Mariah in some parts
sounds different. "It's A Wrap" is another track that I find very
good to listen. "Standing O" is a track that Rihanna could polish
and make a hit because have her type of lyric; "More Than Just
Friends" is a track that is really different and catchy from Mariah
and will be one of your favorites tracks. "Angels Cry" is another
that is easily one of my favorites from this album.
Conclussion I think this album is very underrated, it have the
same element of all Mariah's album although is not better than
"The Enmacipation of Mimi" is good and you'll like it also it reminds
me to Janet's "Discipline" because it have so much preludes and
interludes.
Favorites
1. I Want to Know What Love Is
2. Angels Cry
3. The Impossible
4. H.A.T.E. U.
5. Obsessed
One of the best things that happened in 2009 was Owl City,
it's a new sound that is so fresh and will be a pleasure. I
love this album but the only bad thing that I found is that
it haven't so much variety on different sounds for me is not
a problem because that sound is perfect but I'm sure other
people won't be good listening to this first I have to mention
the # 2 song on my Top 75 Singles of the Year "Fireflies", it's
an amazing track with a good lyric (Which sometimes I feel
identified), another special mention is for "Hello Seattle"
which is really weird but that's the thing that I loove!, "Vanilla
Twilight" which made my top singles too it's a perfect for a
movie soundtrack. Another good songs that I could mention is
"The Bird and the Worm", "Strawberry Avalanche" from the
deluxe edition.
Conclussion I found this album really amazing and I think Adam
Young have a great talent! I wish him all the best with this
project in this new decade
Favorites:
1. Fireflies
2. Vanilla Twilight
3. Cave In
4. Hello Seattle
5. The Bird and the Worm
04. Gustavo Cerati - Deja Vu from Fuerza Natural
Gustavo is the man of the rock in spanish, I love his songs and all his albums, also
I attended to the Soda Stereo's concert here in Venezuela and was one of the
most amazing experiences of my life, this song is not the exception of him. I'm
waiting too see him again!.
03. Paulina Rubio - Ni Rosas, Ni Juguetes from Gran City Pop
This is the second single of mexican pop-singer Paulina Rubio on my latin chart
and I love this song because it became so overplayed on the radio of my city and
then she sang it on the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America with Gabriel
Saporta of Cobra Starship and I love it more!
08. Amy Adams
When I first saw this woman on "Enchanted" i really don't like her
and specially all those songs but now she's doing more serious roles,
this year she did along with Meryl Streep "Julie & Julia" and "Night
at the Museum: Battle of Smithsonian". She's good actress and she's
starting to be recognized for her work. I hope next year will be good
for her and she finally gets her Academy award!
07. Helena Bonham Carter
I think Helena is one of the most underrated actress of this decade
but she did amazing performances in the movies like the "Harry
Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" I love the way she acts with
Bellatrix Lestrange, she makes me hate the character because how
evil she is. Also I'm fan of other movies from her like "Sweeney Todd"
also she did this year "Terminator Salvation". But the next year will
be good for Helena not only for the first part of Harry Potter and
the Deathly Hollows, is because she's again with Johnny Deep in
"Alice in Wonderland"
You're so lucky, I would love to see the last concert by Soda Stereo and OMG! I didn't know that you are venezuelan In fact, I didn't know that you are latin

11. Alicia Keys - The Element of Freedom Released: December 1, 2009
Chart Positions:
US: 02 - UK: 11 - AUS: 19 - CAN: 05
I bought As I Am and my last thought of it is that it was
an amazing album! Well here is The Element of Freedom
which tracklisting is really interesting also are the songs
my favorite so far is "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart"
the single that made debut on my top of singles, the track
is fresh have a good concept and I love the piano part shows
Alicia's talent as musician. Songs like "Love is Blind" and "Wait
Til You See My Smile" are repetitive for me the second is
more quiet and relaxed. Special ballads such as "That's How
Strong My Love Is" which is for me one of the best ballads from
Alicia. The element is feel in songs like "Love Is My Disease" a
mix of R&B with Reggae with good voices in the background.
"Like a Sea" is another nice track that you'll enjoy. The most
funny and catchy with a confusing intro like "Single Ladies
(Put a Ring on It)" is "Put It In A Love Song" featuring Beyoncé
which is great to hear her in the song with Alicia because they
both are great on the R&B game.
1. Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart
2. Love Is My Disease
3. Put It In A Love Song (ft. Beyoncé)
4. Like a Sea
5. Doesn't Mean Anything
10. The Black Eyed Peas - The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) Released: June 09, 2009
Chart Positions:
US: 01 - UK: 03 - AUS: 01 - CAN: 01
Looks like everybody is going to the dance direction and
so is doing The Black Eyed Peas with this record opening
with the first dissapointed but grower "Boom Boom Pow".
Then the next track "Rock That Body" which is really
dance-funk very close to something that Daft Punk would do.
The hot "Meet Me Halfway" which is more hotter when Fergie
is singing her part, also the song debuted on the top 20 on my
year-end chart! The annoying and endless "Imma Be" which is
more repetitive than Britney's Womanizer. "I Gotta Feeling" the
best track of this work for me very good energy, catchy and
dance-friendly also some tracks next you can hear some pieces
of this song on the good and bad influence (LOL) "Party All The
Time". The quickly forgettable "Out of My Head" and "Alive".. And
for last the "Now Generation" this track is like very different from
the album theme looks like the group singing with the Carrie
Underwood's band.
Conclussion I was expecting something better from The Black Eyed
Peas the album is very good and gives you the dance feeling but is
not something that you'll love to death also the good tracks are the
first the rest is nothing special and also very very repetitive which
sometimes is annoying.
1. I Gotta Feeling
2. Meet Me Halfway
3. Missing You
4. Showdown
5. Electric City
02. Nelly Furtado - Manos Al Aire/Más from Mi Plan
Nelly is one of the most versatile singer in the music industry and I couldn't
leave this out of the latin top. Manos Al Aire almost made the top 10 on my
top anglo chart but Mas is another song that is really great for her and
makes me appreciate more her work in this latin album.
01. Shakira - Loba from She Wolf
Loba takes the first place on my top latin songs why? because I already
explained on the top anglo, Loba is a sexy song that totally changes Shakira
for the concept that I had for her, also is very catchy and Shakira looks hot
06. Drew Barrymore
2009 was a big year for Drew Barrymore not only as an actress also
she's now a directing range with the film "Whip It" which have the
Academy-nominated for Best Actress Ellen Page ("Juno") and also she
did a role called "Smashly Simpson" wow what coincidence right?. Also
she did the miniseries on TV "Grey Gardens" which gave her various
nominations to the 2009 Golden Globe Awards and 2009 Emmy Awards
05. Julia Roberts
Famous for such a big roles like "Pretty Woman", "Mona Lisa Smile",
"Closer", "Erin Brokovich" and more, Julia is easily one of my favorite
actresses because she has so much charism, this year she only did
"Duplicity" along with Clive Owen and she's already nominated for a
Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or
Comedy, Will she taking another award to home?. Also I can't wait to see
"Valentine's Day"
