Except you can claim that the boost is bigger for Prince.
I wasn't aware that streaming was so dominant in 2009 to use that as a deflection mechanism.
If you were a thinking shader, you could easily just state that an artist that was 29x platinum at the time and is the biggest selling solo male artist WW wouldn't receive as much of a boost considering most people already had his music before he died.
This would have been a stronger argument to pose considering Prince had Purple rain go diamond and he pretty much just went platnum - 4x platinum at best for his remaining material.
Jackson had 8x platinum albums, 7x platinum albums as well as double platinum albums at his lowest.
