Even Rebel Heart's release was tough for me, because it seems like a farewell record. It's the perfect career retrospective (especially in my 43-track version with all the unreleased material <3). And the idea she could be done at all was a bit tough. If she passed? HELL no.

As far as song choice, I'd literally cry along to Never Let You Go for about two days, transition into I'll Remember for a day and cry harder, and then move on and get to playing the **** out of everything else she's ever made.

I'll probably cry when any of the current pop stars of my generation pass honestly. And a few from previous gens. such as Madonna, Janet, Mariah etc... I've only ever cried over Michael's death and it was years after the fact after I had begun to truly admire him.

Madonna, Dolly, Cher, Shania, Alison Krauss, Kylie, Aretha, Barbra, Joni, Carly Simon, Springsteen, Gloria, Donna, Diana, George Strait, Reba. They'll all HURT. I mean, some of these guys should have decades left in them, but you never really know.

Add on the great dames, too. Maggie Smith, Julie Andrews, Judi Dench. Three of my all time favorite actors.



Cher is the one I fear most, though. I cry sometimes just thinking about it.
