What you're doing is like saying.....Why is you having a problem with me saying that an issue? Why does it bother you so much to see a latino person say we also deserve recognition? Why does the idea of latino plight coming up within media immediately have to get shut down as black hate?

Defensive? Why would I get defensive? Never before have I said that I can empathize with a movement promoting black empowerment or any other social motif.
We can agree that they're all of equal importance (or at least, I hope that we can), but your concern is that one is more adamantly promoted than the other. African-Americans have arguably had the most aggressive, and thus effective, voice for the past 60-odd years and have changed American culture enough to make black activism seem like a completely unremarkable concept. The media has latched on because it has become such a powerful platform. My question to you is who you feel you can blame for that.
