It's not "contrived"....Beyonce came into the game singing R&B songs and serving young vocals. I've been a fan since 1997. It's the new fans that live for bops all the time & ratchet mess. I was there when Beyonce was singing songs like Second Nature, Killing Time, No No No Part 1, etc. Beyonce is a vocalist....its expected that we hear vocals. Not talking or rapping. It's cute to break up the mood & have fun....but that should be it.

IIWAB has never done anything for me, other than the live version. 1+1 is her best ballad IMO. but I absolutely loves when she does acoustic versions of song that were never ballads and slays them. I would live if she somehow turned RTW into a ballad.

Even on Formation her vocals are great. The way she says her words, adds growl to "okay" and "like" in "I like my negro nose with Jackson 5 nostrils". So subtle but mixed with smoothness. I love it.

But yes I want some I Care, Love on Top level slayage.
