Beyoncé IS the better dancer and has been for A WHILE now. Britney lost her spark many years ago and is still struggling to recover (no, extra amount hair whips and twirling doesn't count as recovery sorry)

And some of you with your ridiculous arguments, my goodness.
Saying Britney isn't a good dancer now doesn't take away from what she did do. By this reasoning, you'd have to say Aretha isn't a good singer now because she doesn't sound like she did in 1967. That said, Britney has no true gift of movement, and has no true gift of dance as evident by her recent Vegas performances. She's stiff, lost all fluidity, and struggles to perform even the most basic techniques of dance. And now that the shell has fallen off, you see she never had a core to stand on.
Having an iconic routine has no bearing on the complexity of a routine. "Single Ladies" is parodied on YouTube because it's an easy routine to learn and execute. Ppl will say Beyoncé is a better dancer because it's force fed thru propaganda. It's constantly repeated by the media, so eventually it'll be believed. But in reality, when you really watch her, you'll learn dance isn't one of her talents.
When you compare Britney and Beyoncé to others, you'll see their shortcomings. But they are both average dancers at best when you grade them on their own merits.

Just as singing is more than just being able to hit notes, dancing is more than just being able to do choreography. There are other factors that determine one's ability to "dance".

Currently. Bey. Bey has been the better dancer for awhile. She continues to evolve and try new things. Britney lost what made her special awhile ago. I think there's still a good dancer in there somewhere, but she's not shown it for awhile.

You mean things like fluidity of moves, a sense of rhythm, sharp execution? All the things that Beyoncé has? She may not have the world's best technical ability, but to say she's not a dancer or that she can't dance. It's just ludicrous.

Bey proved her ability to be a great technical dancer with RTW. Not every skilled dancer is going to be a pro at all the difference variations of dance.
When it comes down to it, Bey could perform all of Britney's routines. I don't think the same can be said of Britney. She has lost a lot of the confidence that made her a charismatic dancer. While she still may have the athleticism to pull off technical routines, she lacks the energy and confidence to do as well as anyone else.

Fluidity, rhythm, and "sharp execution" are characteristics of a dance composition, not dance itself. She only has rhythm, the other two are highly debatable. Also, I never said Beyoncé can't dance. I said she's not a dancer, which entails two different meanings.

These made up standards for what constitutes a dancer only exist in your world. Beyonce has proven her dancing abilities since she debuted and has improved each year. Compare the Baby Boy choreo to RTW and you'll see the immense growth.

These standards are set forth by the founders of dance dating back to the 1600s. Someone like Britney can sing in tune throughout a song, but that doesn't mean she has singing talent. Just because an artist can do choreography doesn't mean he or she has dance talent. It means he or she is capable of completing a pattern of steps (aka choreography). Not dance talent, but mere ABILITY. Someone with a talent for dance has a natural gift of dance, which includes the understanding, approach, application, and presentation of the art form, among other things. This is the difference between being a true dancer and a singer who dances. Beyoncé is the latter. Britney is neither.

Yea no, dance is not an educational subject it's something you feel when listening to music or even without it. Nobody needs the permission of some "dance founders" to label themselves a dancer. When you move in rhythm to the music, well I might add, you're a dancer. Just like if you sing on key, well, you're a singer. Sure there levels beyond just basic moving in rhythm, just like for singing on key, Beyonce has shown she's above the basic level. The army (the only fanbase I've ever seen use this high standard of what makes someone a dancer) tries to pass off this image of Beyonce as someone who does the hokey pokey for all her routines when she incorporates multiple flavors. Maybe watch some of her recent concerts and then you'll realize how outdated your perception on her abilities are.

"Dance is not an educational subject.". This statement is just so incredibly thoughtless I don't even know how to properly respond to it. The educational process of dance training enables a dancer to properly execute dance techniques to avoid injury, not to mention the obvious of how to properly do them. Moving with the rhythm of music is called freestyle, a trait that is present in all styles dance. Both the Army and the Hive grossly overestimate the abilities of both artists. I'm well aware of their performances, as I'm an avid fan of both. And as of recent times, Britney has lost all dance ability she had, and Beyoncé still consistently manages to over dance every routine she's given. If dance weren't an educational subject, both of these women would know how to dance properly despite their obvious shortcomings as singers who dance. But alas, they both prove it is.

When white people found out what twerking is and added it to the dictionary...
Quote:
A dance to popular music in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting stance.
