Well, S, N and D are technically the only Scandinavian countries, and myself I don't feel any type of connection to Icelandic or Finnish. Icelandic has some understandable words though, but they're too different to be Scandinavian in my opinion. Finland and Sweden might share a deeper connection as Finland has a Swedish part and I'm not 100% sure but Sweden has probably tried to make Finland a part of their country back in the day

But yeah I think we all have love-hate relationships, kinda like siblings I guess? We have these jokes about the Norwegian, Swede and Dane which have alternate endings in each country. In Norway the Swede is the dumbest, the Dane is alright and the Norwegian is the smartest, whereas we're the dumbest in Denmark and Danes are dumbest in Sweden I believe. It kinda shows that we have an inner competition, but still support each other and feel unity obviously.

Swedes are everywhere in Norway + we've grown up with Swedish kids shows so I think a good part of understanding it comes from that. Though I don't think it's as much Swedish shows on TV for kids anymore, but there were some when I was little and definitely more when my parents were young!

As MTM mentioned, I think Sweden is the only country who has a deeper connection to Finland, but other than that it's pretty much all about Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.

Denmark probably has a deeper connection to Iceland though, I think they learn Danish in school? Idk why they're sitting at our table but I don't mind them so they can stay.

Oh that's cool! I guess Swedish is a more popular course than Norwegian haha

Yeah it's like that for some Norwegians, for some it's hard to change their accent when they switch between the Scandi languages so it might be a case of that happening!
