"The Mayor, who is a Socialist" That sentence is funny to me because it reminds me that he only recently started calling himself a "democratic socialist" (not capitalized). Before that, he was full-blown, Capital-S Socialist.

This is debatable. Bernie has shown consistently throughout the primaries that he is the Dem getting the most cross-over votes from Republicans and his favorables are way higher than Hilary. He has a very compelling case he is more electable.

No. In other countries, yes, but not in the US - somewhat due to remnants of McCarthyism but mostly because many of our ideal are rooted in Capitalism (and that isn't going to change).

Arent the vast majority of people already aware of Bernie's socialist connections anyway? He still supports capitalism, he just wants more restrictions on the big businesses.
I just cant picture regular democrats going Republican for Trump in a hypothetical ge matchup when right now, most exit polling shows that most say they would support Bernie if he won the nomination. I doubt Trump yelling "socialist" in August like he's been doing already for the past few months would switch them over to him.
