I agree. They don't need to be silent whenever he says offensive things. It's not fair to Hillary!

A very large chunk of people view Hillary Clinton as an extremely dishonest, corrupt person who has engaged in a lot of shady dealings over the years. These people generally feel that they've been alienated by the political system (and I can relate to them, because I know I do), and although they may agree strongly with most or all of Clinton's policies they don't trust her to implement them. They believe that she will keep the status quo and put her interests first. You don't want any of those qualities in a president, and that's the kind of president these people believe that she will be.
I am not taking a side, I'm simply trying to explain why Bernie v. Hillary is more than just who is more progressive and who voted on liberal-agenda-pushing bills earlier.

I realize the larger implication of what Bernie vs. Hillary means. However, I think people use this to diminish the importance of voting or how crucially we do not need Cruz or Trump in the White House. As I've said, I do not like the idea of Bernie as president. I firmly do not think he would make a good one, but he would be infinitely better than Trump or Cruz, particularly with a Republican Congress. While, we all have our disagreements on who is better between Hillary and Bernie, at the end of the day, either is better than Trump or Cruz and we need to support whoever wins the nomination. That's my view.

YUP!!!
This also explains why Bernie has the less-experienced youth backing him up. I try to convince people from my age range to vote but they feel this system is rigged and not worthy enough of a vote. So for those people who are supporting Bernie itss because they are his hope of change. They are tired of the system being the same, and they chose Bernie because he is the only candidate to represent that hope. Voting for Hillary is going against their ideals. Sorry y'all

I'd rather see a debate just on foreign policy alone to draw some contrasts between the two.
Hillary is hawkish & their's no denying it but when many foreign leaders
highly respect & fear you becoming president
that's what I want in a leader to build on american power abroad.
I'm just a hawkish democrat in general but you don't have to go to war to exert military power.
I agree with Hillary that she'll try diplomacy at any chance but won't hesitate to take military action if things hit the fan.
That should go for any other country as well. No nation should be threat to the U.S. & Nato.
I don't want a president that puts foreign policy on the back burner
while he spends the majority of his time focusing on domestic policy.
When it's comes to the U.S. in general though I'd rather have Bernie in office than any of the republican candidates.
Could you imagine Trump or Cruz having the codes to are nuclear weapons?!
|
They had that same mindset with Iraq, and look at how that turned out.
We already have the biggest military in the world; I don't know why people act like another country is gonna be able to attack us whenever they feel like it.

I'm sorry, but this is idiotic thinking. If we end up with President Cruz or President Trump because Bernie supporters were too stubborn to vote for Hillary, or vice versa, then we're going to have MUCH bigger issues than what we have now and will have severe consequences for it.
Look at Ralph Nader in 2000.

If none of the candidates reasonate with a person's ideals/beliefs then they shouldn't have to vote for them, easy as that. Even if the popular opinion is that "Hillary is the lesser of two evils" in the GE, that doesn't mean that she's earned their vote.

I don't think you're in any position to call anyone's ideals idiotic because they go against yours. You could call it selfish though.

Totally agreed! This is NOT the year for a protest campaign. The stakes are too high. Hillary Clinton is now at 75% of the delegates she needs for the Democratic nomination. We must unite behind her when she inevitably secures the nomination. We cannot let Donald Trump or Ted Cruz in the White House! Democrats, Liberals, Progressives, let us remember who the real enemy is!

Wow and the fact that you still pull this out after all they wrote... yikes

Bernie doesn't resonate with my beliefs, and yet I'd still vote for them. Life is typically about the lesser of two evils. Rarely are important decisions between a good choice and a bad choice.

I have to say, it is interesting how many more Bernie supporters have popped up in this thread... Before it was practically all HillaryHens and Marvin (with Mike popping in occasionally).

I wonder how all of these people talking about ideals will be feeling after two years of President Cruz because the liberals failed to unite behind Hillary!
