Does a car have legitimate non-violent use? Yes. Is a car essential to perform daily, reasonable tasks? Basically yes, some people can live without cars, most can't.
Are those two things true with a semi-automatic rifle? We are arguing no. I don't know how such a large weapon that fires, what 11 bullets a second, can be justified for self defense. Unless you are in Syria or Iraq, it is not realistic that you are going to face an army of people coming at you that would justify 700 wounds a minute! There is a reason most cops do not even carry this weapon and soldiers do.
It's meant to kill people.
I know the manufacturer didn't break a law.
We are saying it should be illegal, so it doesn't happen in the future. Similar to how super pacs can accepts unlimited amounts of money from billionaires and millionaires. It is legal but shouldn't be.
