He's just covering the territory that T-Pain and a few others like him did back in the '00s.

And trap music right now is just a flash-in-the-pain. Future may be more 'relevant' than J. Cole, but J. Cole has more chances of outlasting whatever Hip Hop trend is going on now.

I guess he did, but it just feels different? Maybe it's less different than I had thought.

I feel like T-Pain will have left a more undying legacy than Future, then again.

Future is different from Pain in the sense that his career wasn't birthed BY his commercial success. He has and had a very strong street following prior to him taking off like this. This recent mainstream stuff is just now coming into play but ****** have been riding for Fut. And he has like an actual hardcore fanbase unlike T-Pain who was more just a hit maker with no real dedicated following a la Flo Rida, Derulo. He won't fade as quickly

She's, like, 25. And it's not that she despises pop culture or anything, she just genuinely manages to not have herself exposed to it because it doesn't matter to her. She loves hearing me and my friend talk about Rihanna, even though she has no idea about it. And she has good music taste! It's just interesting.

Part of that I don't get because his albums aren't really highly acclaimed, or certainly not as much as Kanye/Kendrick or even Drake really. I feel it's how J.Cole carries himself through his material that would make it seem as his sound is a bit more "respectful".

J Cole isn't as big of a celebrity compared to the others because he doesn't want to be. I remember watching an interview of his and he said he purposely stays out of the media because he doesn't like the industry and thinks it's fake.

Yeah, but none of this changes what I believe to be a flash-in-the-pain thing.

Future's and Pain's rides to success may have been different, but Future is just an "of-the-moment" thing like Pain was. That trap **** isn't going to last in the ever-revolving Hip Hop genre, and Future really doesn't have that much talent to do anything else.

Hmm fair enough. I know this really annoying girl who pretended to have no clue what Blank Space was and who it was by, but then sang along to nearly every word when she was drunk a few days later

I moreso meant him as a rapper/lyricist. He is praised for being of the top lyricists out, one of the only real rappers doing it, etc
