Also, the instrumentation, lyricism and themes throughout the album are incredibly intricate and beautifully executed. There are a lot of recurring patterns, it's an ALBUM. Also, isn't Kanye's debut notable for shifting the hip-hop scene from gangsta rap to something else entirely different? He went up against the biggest rap artist of the millennium (50 Cent) and progressively ended him and his popularity by the time Graduation came out.
