They literally just come into my head usually sometimes you can sit at a piano and play with them though. Play chords until something pops in your head, etc

It really depends on whether you want something challenging or something simple. Think of an easy enough rhythm, then use only three to four notes to make something usable.

How long does it take you guys to write a full song?
It depends. I wrote my highest-scoring song in Platinum Hits 8 in just one night, but that's pretty uncommon for me.
I don't usually write a song in one sitting, unless the inspiration and creative energies are perfectly attuned.
Most of the time I'll write a bit and revisit it hours / weeks / months later, or I'll write a full song in 20-90 minutes, and then revise it at a later time.
I think the reason why I hate revising and revisiting songs is because my "better" songs (songs that are more well-received by other people, I'm more proud of, etc.) tend to come from one brief sitting. It seems that I overthink it when I start revising it.
