I'll say it again, there's a problem when a song not even in the top 10 on iTunes is number 1 on Billboard, it makes me uncomfortable. I know, streaming is the future and all that bs, but I don't agree with it.
This is no shade to Rihanna or any other artist per se; rather, it's an attack against streaming and its uselessness in determine popularity. Most of the songs people listen to through streaming are not necessarily the most demanded. No, Spotify manipulates playlists so certain songs get played more when a person shuffles a playlist. Okay, that's just speculation but it's possible that it could happen, which is the problem.

Work should still be T10 in the weekly sales chart tho.
But it's just a waiting game till Bey slays the world again.

Work is top 10 combined and it was kicked out by the country songs.

Hold on Rih
We don't want 7 Years to go #1
I hope 7Y starts dropping so Meghan can take over the #1 from Work

It's basically the same **** with DrIL back in 2014 when her streams were high but sales were low. Streaming IS the future. I tried to shrug that off before but now I've proven it firm that it is the biggest force in music right now.

You're literally describing radio. So that would make both streaming AND radio useless in popularity, which just leaves sales. There's already a Digital Songs chart, so just use that as your primary source
Plus this argument doesn't even make much sense tbh since people have the option to skip songs in a playlist and a ton of people don't even use those playlists. So it's not like all of Spotify is controlled by these playlists. And then even so, Spotify is only one part of overall streaming.

People can just turn it off if they don't want to hear it. The control is the users and what people actually listen to vs what is played by radio or sales driven by fans. You can cheat AirPlay and sales in a way that you can't cheat streams. If people don't like it they aren't going to play it. If be curious to see how many people listen to each song and how many times the average person listens to it.

Work has been in the iTunes top 10 for the previous 67 days (every day since it's release), and every week the song has charted on HDS, and it's also the #2 song on radio. The Hot 100 is accurately showcasing the most popular song in the United States currently. There is no reason to be uncomfortable, unless it's for some other reason......

More people stream music than download it these days, therefore it should weigh heavily on the charts. It's that simple. Digital and radio play are so old fashioned, and kudos to the Hot 100 for moving forward with the times
