The Simpsons really hasn't been funny since this millennium, except for The Simpsons Movie.
Family Guy came and took humor to the next level, and it's been a wrap for them since. The Gaga to their Madonna kii. They should cancel and only do Treehouse of Horror Specials.
Don't the main cast get like $500K per episode or something crazy though? The fact they've been doing it so long cast members have literally died (Bart's Teacher died).
They also need to end The Real World at this point. There's certain shows networks refuse to end even if nobody cares anymore because they've been such classics and The Simpsons, The Real World, and Spongebob are those type of shows.
American Dad! is obvs the best "adult cartoon" (?) right now.
Yeah, Family Guy snatched The Simpsons in 2000s, and American Dad kinda randomly snatched Family Guy in 2010s.

The Simpsons main problem is the 'comedy'... is so dry and outdated for current times. That lame humor that was funny in 1988 doesn't work now. The producers and writers are like 70 years old so they'll never realize.

A lot of recent seasons of The Simpsons have had episodes that felt like they were trying too hard to be modern, and it's like... Kind of sad to watch. Every now and then, they'll have the occasional gem, but it definitely has lost a lot of its charm.
