Maybe, but she's one of the few artists who has succeeded by surprising release her album. I also find it redundant to release a single first and an album two or three months later, every artist does it.
The fact that she looks amazing in both, Formation and IVY PARK, and the fact both are amazingly well shot and edited makes me think that the mini movie is going to blow our minds
Her visuals really have become top notch. I think no other musicians comes close these days. They all look cheap in direct comparison tbh.
Ivy Park genuinely looks amazing, it's going to do so well, especially how it's being distributed in JD Sports and Selfridges - what sort of wide demographic?

Maybe a single drop + pre-order a week before max.
I always said I bet she watched Adele's lead up to 25 and liked how Adele sort of did find a path between completely surprise-releasing her song but still causing an inevitable shock factor. I could see her do sth similar, so basically what you said. Maybe a release date out of nowhere or a teaser of the mini movie, and the actual album/film/lead single a week later. It would be the perfect combination of shock factor + immediate release (but enough time to let word of mouth do its thing)
