Imagine having a safe image early in your solo career, appealing to pop and urban being played on pop and urban, promoting on pop and urban releasing 5+ singles per era and the best you have for it is a 5x platinum album.

This is true. I love Beyonce but her stans have bitched about Rih's album sales not 'selling as much considering the huge hits' and DIL, BDay and 2008 Sasha era are examples of that too. I think she was always in the Top 10 Hot 100 Artists of those eras, but never in the BB200 Top 10 or even Top 20 Beyonce's albums-singles ratio success only got exceptional in 2009 when album sales declined. It's no wonder her total is low.
