How can people say Sucker is better than this little masterpiece? Open your hearts and minds to something new you basic pop fans. Ugh. This EP is 10/10. Nothing less.
my only critique of this EP is that instead of the artist being the star its the producer/genre that gets the spotlight hence the cliched lyrics like Secret --although like someone pointed out, PC music is suppose to be vapid. regardless i feel like Charli's personality still comes through
Um, I kinda agree with certain points such as it being abrasive and uncommercial but obviously that was the point. It was released on her ~experimental~ label and not her actual label for a reason. I guess the sound of it wouldn't be to everybody's taste but that's where album reviews becomes a weird concept in general. The score is quite harsh and it's disappointing because typically Pitchfork is quite supportive of Charli.
They wrong for this (and some of yall wrong for trying to drag Sucker. It's full of bops), the EP is full of bops. Vroom Vroom is a banga. Paradise is just fantastic. Trophy is a bop and Secret is also really good. They playing,
I've only gone through it once so far and I'm not v sure how I feel about it or all of this ''PC'' (what does this even stand for?) music trend going on.
It's not supposed to be commercial... Obviously. This is so #ANTi of Charli. I love Trophy and Vroom Vroom, Paradise is cute but I just can't get with Hannah's vocals for some reason, and Secret hasn't grown on me at all. It's a fun experimental EP, I don't think she's trying to get a Grammy.
