I wouldn't take the critics as seriously as you guys think we should.
Sure, it matters on some level to the executives but if the movie has a great word of mouth, it'll ensure success and a franchise.

Not really understanding why WB wants to make standalone movies for Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman and Shazam though, there doesn't seem to be much hype/demand for them... Marvel somehow turned Antman into a box-office hit but I don't know how WB can do the same.
If Cyborg movie gets changed into a Teen Titans movie omg

The Flash is literally the most important member of the Justice League by far. He's faster than even Superman is (in every race he's had against Supes, he's beaten him with absolute ease). He's capable of jumping into any dimension, universe or timeline (past or future). His film is definitely needed. But then again, this multiverse thing is probably going to hurt WB a lot more than Marvel's TV/Film universe partly because the audience is invested in the Flash show on CW. Then they're going to wonder why there's a different actor for the film.
And as someone already pointed out, you can make a film like Winter Soldier that's thematically mature without actually making the film dark. There's a few jokes in Winter Soldier but it's an overall a fantastic film since it deviates from the typical warm nature of other Marvel films.
