Billboard also "confirmed" that Tinashe's "Player" was produced by Max. guess what? he isn't credited on that song, either. Billboard isn't always 100-percent spot-on when it comes to songwriting/production credits. more and more often, when an artist says they've been working with Max, it turns out that they were actually just working with songwriters and producers from his Wolf Cousins team. does he consult with these artists? maybe, I dunno -- but he isn't always credited on the material.

Oh, and MXM is Max's publishing company -- that doesn't mean he personally had a hand in creating the song .

Ryan Seacrest mentioned on his interview with Ari back in October that it was produced by Max. Besides, there's literally a picture of him with her from the day that they did the song.

Max definitely had some type of involvement with Focus, just by going off the way the instrumentation and vocals have been produced and mixed.

Savan Kotecha and Ilya (and maybe even Svensson, I'm not sure) are a part of Wolf Cousins, a songwriting/production collaborative launched by Max -- I'm willing to bet many of them all work out of the same studio. Max being pictured in that studio that day doesn't mean anything -- especially because we know he produced/co-wrote other songs for 'Dangerous Woman.'

I don't know what else to say. frankly, it's kind of a silly thing to argue about... but I guess I just don't understand how the official credits for the song -- the credits registered with Warner/Chappell, which dictate how the people involved get paid -- aren't enough to convince you.

By that logic, Max would have a writing credit for "Dangerous Woman" since he produced it. He's not credited for DW just like he's not credited for Focus. The lack of a writing credit doesn't mean he couldn't have produced both of those songs.

you're right -- but how many songs has Max produced where he didn't also receive a writing credit? I'm honestly asking; I'm not sure. I'd be curious to know.

I've heard quite a lot. Apparently he just has a love for music, I wouldn't have been surprised if he heard Focus and wanted to improve it and add his input just cause he has a passion to produce and not for a writing credit

This is just what I've heard from my boyfriend who is really passionate about music producing and is obsessed with Max Martin

ha. i'm also obsessed with Max . I guess I don't know of many songs that he produced but didn't get a songwriting credit for, but it's totally possible it has happened a lot and I just didn't realize it.
