Lmao, get real! The artists who do +1 million openings are those who play it safe, and who give the fans and general public what they want/expect from them. Do you really think +1 million people will rush and buy her album after the two polarizing albums, and no classic hits (bar Love on Top, maybe)? Lol, no. She should consider herself very, very lucky if she manages to reach 300-400k range.

Sometimes I feel like y'all are purposefully lowering your expectations so that people won't drag you for being optimistic if she flops
I could always be wrong but I can't see a world where she sells less than 500k if it's on iTunes

Considering more rap artists have had 1 milli openings than the current pop girls, that logic is flawed.

The most we have to worry about is like a short window of exclusivity then it'll be on iTunes.
|
If that short film thing is true, I'm hoping that that'll be the Tidal exclusive with the album and that the standard will be sold on iTunes and Amazon concurrently.

Bey's best bet for a million+ opening was ST. Had the physicals somehow made their way to shelves and she released at the beginning of the tracking week, it would have been possible. I don't see it for her.

I can guarantee you that no loser on this site can ''drag'' me. I don't give a ****. She won't be able to rely on Christmas sales, surprise effect and hits. +1 million in April is a very unrealistic projection.

Rap artists are notorious for having big openings, so you didn't make a point there. Beyonce is not a rap artist.

You stated that the only artists to open with over 1 million are artists that play it safe. I mentioned several rappers, who aren't safe in any book, have done it so being safe isn't a prerequisite. The fact that she nearly did it with ST should also tell you that musical safety isn't required. That was the point. She's also not a regular pop girl. She's primarily RnB and dabbles here and there into the pop sound. The fact that more than I would say 80% of her hits, current and past, aren't even pop alludes to this.

Beyoncé is not Kanye. Beyoncé is not Rihanna. Beyoncé is not Jay. Beyoncé was raised by parents with financial and entrepreneurial wisdom and it shows in her career choices and ambition. Beyoncé has developed a company that works, essentially, like a think tank, in an effort to spread her vision to as many people as possible. Beyoncé doesn't just learn from her own mistakes, but mistakes others in her line of work have made, as well. She is constantly challenging herself and suceeding in the end, while being open to outside influence. Stop undermining her intelligence; she knows what she's doing.
