Are Katy Perry & Lady Gaga the last MAJOR & ICONIC Pop Girls to debut?

Since 2008 no other Pop Girl DEBUTS have matched either's success, popularity, iconicness etc etc




They're so iconic and they're the only girls that can match Bitney vs Christina back in early 2000's

Kesha was up there for a hot minute but we all know what happened. Meghan is honestly a candidate, but she doesn't have a "rival"... maybe Ariana? But they've collaborated already and are friends.

Taylor Swift and Adele became household names after Katy and Gaga debuted, though they technically debuted before and at the same time as them respectively.

Yes! Like Sam said Ariana and Meghan have potential but they're not there yet. And it's way too early to tell but I think Zara Larsson has potential too

yes also i think it has something to do with the music landscape not being as relaint 2 pop girls & not as pop girl filled heavy like before.

besides the new ones are lacking like who's gonna replace these two? meghan trainor selena gomez and ariana grande? they don't have the same over the topness + drama+ pop niche that you need to be that big event of a pop star they're just not exciting

There will be big pop girls. Trends always come and go, and it seems like right now the GP isn't looking for pop girls, but they will in the future. It seems big pop stars debut in sets at around the same time, so maybe in 5 years we'll get some more
