This week I fulfilled my Madonna's new year resolutions and finally I watched Who's That Girl Tour and Drowned World Tour in full without cuts.



By the way, her tour trinity still is:

The Rebel/Heart idea would have been awesome for her to pull off, I think the two covers we have are kind of the direction she was going with both ideas. This era could have been so much more than what it was already was.

I was thinking the same at first but then the Rebel/Heart theme would be too literal and Sasha Fierce. I like the dynamic of the final record, except Ghosttwon leading to Unapologetic Bitch, and the flow from Iconic to Body Shop makes the mid-run of the album kind of hollow and awkward. I guess I just can't stand HeartBreakSh1tty...

All I know is I like 80s and 90s the best and I like the 00s and 10s the least. The nitty gritty I can never decide.

The charm of Rebel Heart is that it is chaotic, but unlike Hard Candy and MDNA it has a much stronger ratio of good to bad. The main issues with RH lie in the occasionally clunky production and M's voice getting a little shrill occasionally (which is honestly an age thing that she can't do a lot to change).

I agree, for me personally, I like 00s the least (I don't necesarrily hate that decade's music but it has the music I listen to the least, especially Music/Confessions).

The highs are... "higher" on RH than on MDNA and HC.

I've realised nobody acknowledges Messiah.... I wonder why

I'm sad Rebel Heart has been demoted so much in everyone's minds. It's on-par with Confessions, if not better. Had the album been a seamless release, I reckon she could have had some success...

The tour performance of "Messiah" (as an interlude) was so beautiful! All the oldies around me with going "wow!" (including me!). Doesn't make it a more exciting song, but the "I am the sorceress down in the deep" line does summon visions of Madge as a Macbeth-like witch cackling over a bubbling cauldron.

EDM is the dominant genre. It's cohesive in comparison to Rebel Heart which is what I was trying to refer too

It has constantly been praised tho? Three apppreciation threads alone in the last year I think. That's not enough tho. Honestly before reading this post I was considering to make one earlier A few pages back I talked about it as well, saying she needs to re-release it properly.
