I'm pretty sure the timeline in the video (1996 -- 1999 -- 2002 -- 2006 -- 2010 -- 2013 -- 2016) says it all. It must be Gen 7. Wasn't there also a timeline last year somewhere that showed only main games too and also showed 2016 on it?

No. I know you weren't. I believe it's Gen 7 now. I'm just saying that was the only reason I could think of why it would be Gen 6 (and the unfinished plots from XYORAS). The fact you can only transfer from RBY and XYORAS to SM but not backwards is telling.
