Because in album's chart case, most of the times it's just one song pushing the album sales and that's not realistc at all.
Streaming for HOT 100 is more than fair and it's the time we live in. But for the BB200 it's really nonsense to have your album sell 20K but chart with 80K because you have a a big hit song performing well at the moment.

Rihanna has never been one to debut big, and she only has ONE 2x platinum album in the US. Outside of GGGB and Loud her overall sales are dismissal compared to her digital sales in singles. She isn't a strong album seller hence GGGB still not being 3x platinum after 7 singles and a re-release.

You have to stream the entire album for streams to be counted toward album sales.

Streaming Work only will only count toward Work.

That is an exception because the album isnt on streaming services. Being able to stream the ANTI album is what's driving it's streaming numbers, not just Work.

Other pop girls albums leaked nearly a month in advance, and that's the same as giving one million copies away, who cares if the other pop girls didn't publicly relay the link, or if their labels snatched as many of the free download links down ASAP.

The album was also available for free WW. The number of times it was downloaded just wasn't tracked, unlike the US.
