She started work on TD in late October and the lead was released in May. There's nothing wrong with a rushed album, it's not like Prism would have been any better if she took more time writing it

If anything there'd probably be more corny self-help ballads

I think she already had plans on working with Dr. Luke again for KP4 but of course things have changed now because of the Kesha controversy and now the songwriting process has been delayed until she finds a new producer

didn't she start writing this year? ie: sarah hudson's songwriting session assuming it's with katy plus she worked on td for 5-6 months and it's her magnum opus so she can pull kp4 out late this year....maybe or early 2017 lol
