I genre bias, plain and simple. They also tend to shoot for the safest album and sound. I knew ST wasn't winning based on it's theme and sexuality.

Why 4 was snubbed, I'll never completely understand. K.Dot should have won this year, but his album wasn't as safe and friendly as 1989, so they passed it to the likable and safe pop album by a safe and popular pop/country artist. It is was it is. RnB and Hip Hop will never win in the major categories because the genres are simply not respected by the majority of Grammy voters. In the end, it's less about race and more about globally, musically accepted music.

What I don't get is why other minorities feel that they're somehow above AA's for NOT fighting for their equality in entertainment. If y'all are content with being passed over and stereotyped, it's on y'all. Don't try to act better than black people, who have no problem speaking out about our inequality. Not at all. Every other race that has immigrated to this country has advanced much farther even if it means they have to work harder than whites. Most of the black urban population don't have that same work ethic and that's why they remain in the ghetto

Almost all of the albums in the OP have excellent lyrical content(BEYONCÈ has a few duds but is still lyrically solid overall).
Maybe try to generalise a little less?

Classic urban genres like Rap or R&B aren't favored by the Grammy voters,racism and some of the radical lyrical content of the albums(especially Kendrick's albums) are some of the factors I'd consider in this case. But these albums will remain excellent with or without a Grammy which is in no way a reflection of musical quality. The idea that you can choose a definite "best album of a year" is ridiclous in itself anyway.
