I think Fifth Harmony can pull off a song and video same day release.
That's not the part I'm against. That would actually be a good strategy to get a high debut like you said... if they were hyping up the release beforehand. But it's starting to look like they're just going to surprise release the song and video on Friday with no previous announcement, and that will hurt their debut since news of their release won't travel as quickly as when Beyonce or Rihanna do surprise releases.
LA Reid probably let it slip so that the harmos had enough time to get some $$$$ on their iTunes accounts I'm still holding out for an announcement tonight
If this really is going to be a surprise release (I'm still holding out hope that it won't be), I just don't understand who on their team thinks that 5H is big enough to pull this off successfully.
right if they're going to do surprise release, harmonizers won't be ready and they work best when they're notified earlier so they can come together and create promotion plans for the girls + pull some trick or two.

Ooh, true. I didn't see your post, I was replying to what Lucky#17 said but you're totally right.
Does anyone know where BO$$ would have debuted in 2016 with the new formula they recently applied? I hope they can sell more than 56k FW this time.
the amount of harmonizers dragging 5H on my timeline is just
I am dying laughing I see two plans being formed. Some want to initiate a BBMA-styled blackout and some want to start a countdown so they'll be forced to acknowledge it. This is so funny... sad... but funny.

I'm just going to hold out and see about those radio interviews. If not then I still say Monday. If not Monday then... oh well lmao
BO$$ did 75K in its first week, but under a much different sales climate. I believe it debuted at #14 on the Digital Songs chart, but 75K now would be Top 5
I'm personally far more interested in how well it'll stream early on versus how well it'll sell.

You have to be pretty big to pull it off but they for sure can after Worth It. It ensures a high peak even if the song ends up underperformance (see: Focus). Although, I doubt they would be able to pull Focus first week streams.
Radio is a question for 5H too, Focus had nearly 40M in radio audience the first week to contribute to its high debut, before stations did the inevitable and dropped it. Can 5H get those numbers?
