Western music is haram. Perhaps the local sharia court hasn't specifically outlined that the punishment should be execution, but the fact remains. ISIS fighters didn't suddenly decide they had a problem with western music and put the kid before court without reason.

Under some interpretations music with instruments is considered haram, although certainly not punishable by beheading. Only acapella vocal music is acceptable for some.
