I wonder what would happen if R9 was a full on Max Martin pop production. It would never ever happen, but I would love to see a proper era with multiple smashes and how it performed etc.

Meh, Max Martin is really hit and miss these days. If she would need to go back to the pop bops she rather go to Stargate (in combination with Chase & Status, Hit-Boy or Cashmere Cat) and try some underground pop producers to have more fresh material.

So what would " happen" would maybe a few cute hits under her belt, but a step backwards creativily. If she would go for a predictable Max Martin pop record. Ain't nobody got time for that ish

For now she made a different kind of record, which is logical after 7 albums in a rather short timespan. She is in a different phase and inspired with different sounds than some of her fanbase, which is normal for a chameleon like Rihanna.
